With the [[jab|jabs]] affecting his legs already, [[Ippo|Ippo]] has no option but to walk directly into the attacks, while blocking in order to get within striking range. As he slowly walks forward, he receives the jabs, but his solid guard protects well against them. Once inside, Ippo begins weaving and starts performing his [[Dempsey roll|Dempsey roll]]. [[Martinez|Martinez]] the effortlessly jabs Ippo's face over and over again, despite the fact that he is weaving his head at a high speed. With the Dempsey roll stopped, Martinez walks away and tells [[Stewart|Stewart]] that he does not wish to shame the champion anymore and wants to end the spar. [[Kamogawa|Kamogawa]] agrees, and tries to get Ippo out of the ring, but the [[boxer|boxer]] is in a state of unconsciousness and tries to hit Martinez before being stopped by his coach. As soon as he wakes up, Ippo thanks Martinez and leaves the gym.

Summary

With the jabs affecting his legs already, Ippo has no option but to walk directly into the attacks, while blocking in order to get within striking range.
