Summary
On his way to the date, Ippo notices Kumi looking at her watch, so he assumes she has been waiting for a long time. In a hurry, he crosses the street and is almost hit by the speeding cars, whose drivers insult him. After going around the amusement park, Kumi confesses that she has never been on a date before, because Mashiba would always intimidate anyone interested in her. She also expresses her concern for her brother and states that is the reason for which she became a nurse.
While in the haunted house, Ippo who is at first not afraid of anything in it, but instead enjoys how afraid the clinging Kumi is. However, upon noticing figure resembling Mashiba, he runs away and leave her behind.
Ippo then accompanies Kumi to the station where they say goodbye to each other as she leaves for home. As he is walking alone, Ippo notices people entering the Kourakuen Hall, and begins remembering his most recent bout. He wonders how happy his friends would have been if he had won the match. He then realizes that having a good performance is not enough, since what he really wanted was to win.
