- Title Page Character(s): Ippo Makunouchi, Sanada Kazuki
With Sanada clearly dominating the fight, Ippo is in panic and can barely think properly. As he tries to predict where the next hien will come from, he gets hit once more. he decides to simply block until he finds an opening. Sanada keeps on the offensive, making Ippo back up against the rope and receives hit after hit, which makes the audience wonder what is wrong with the champion. This continues through the entire round as Ippo can find no opening and the bell rings, ending the round.
While Ippo is in deep trouble due to the hien, with Kamogawa having no strategies against it, Sanada is extremely calm, and Dankichi hopes Kamogawa does not notice that the true goal of the hien is to set Ippo up for the tsubame gaeshi.
The next round starts with Ippo dashing to the opposite corner as soon as the order is given. Sanada plans to rely on his hien in order to stop him, but he only brushes air as Ippo has initiated the movement of the Dempsey roll.
