DetailsEdit

SummaryEdit

Ippo heads to Kourakuen Hall to meet with Takamura to watch Miyata's first match in the tournament. He notices two girls his age blushing and looking at him and assumes he must be recognizable.

As they get to their seats, a girl drops her ticket, and Ippo picks it up for her, she asks where seat E-11 is, and he looks down to see that his seat is E-12... and that his pants zipper is wide open. The embarrassed girl sits besides him and he realizes that this must be why the girls from earlier were blushing at him.

Miyata finally enters to the crowd's cheers, and Ippo wonders if the girl is his fan. Takada, Miyata's opponent, is an in fighter like Ippo, and watching this match could help him develop a strategy against Miyata's footwork.

The match begins and Miyata stops his footwork. Takada, angry at his underestimating opponent, throws several punches. Miyata dodges everything so he tries a shoulder block, but Miyata fights back with a shoulder block of his own. After taking two blows, Miyata begins to dominate the exchange. Takada goes for a clinch but Miyata shoves him off, overwhelms him again, and ends the fight with a counter.

Ippo is in awe of Miyata's unusual performance, and Takamura theorizes Miyata must be trying to prepare himself to fight Ippo. The girl drops her ticket and when Ippo tries to give it back, she simply wonders why "he" wants to box so much. Ippo is confused, and she walks off without her ticket, enamoring him with the smell of her shampoo, which annoys Takamura, who had still been talking about Miyata.
