Summary
After both fighters make their entrances to the cheers of the audiences, they are introduced and approach the center of the ring where they refuse to look at each other as they can no longer contain themselves.
After waiting almost two years for his revenge, Sendou is so visibly exited that he is told by Yanaoka to relax and stay calm no matter what.
On the challenger's corner, Ippo notes to himself how the intensity the champion is giving off is way much more than he has ever experienced.
As soon as the bell rings, Ippo closes in on Sendou before the latter even has the chance to turn around and face him. Ippo begins weaving and launches the first punch of his Dempsey roll. Sendou tries to nullify it with a left, but misses and is hit on his guard again. After repeated punches on the guard, Ippo manages to open Sendou up for an attack, and strikes his face, sending him down instantly.
