Makoto Morita (森田 マコト, Morita Makoto) is a non-recurring character in Hajime no Ippo. He is a junior featherweight ranked fourth at the time that Makunouchi Ippo sparred with him in his Dojo Duel prior to Ippo's match with Sendō Takeshi.

Makoto sparred with Makunouchi Ippo on his second day of his dojo challenge. He was able to last until the third round before he got knocked out.

Etymology[]
- The name Makoto is written in katakana (マコト), which has no special meaning. However, when written in kanji (誠), it could possibly mean "sincerity".
- Makoto's surname Morita means "forest" (森) (mori) and "field, rice paddy" (田) (ta).
