Even though nothing of Kawaishi's past is revealed, it can be safely assumed that since he participated in the third round of the tournament, he defeated more than two opponents. However, when facing Mashiba Ryou, he fell to the same technique everyone who had fought Mashiba before him had; a chopping right.
