- The name Kimio means "public, duke, prince, lord, companion, open, official, governmental, duke" (公) (kimi) and "male, man" (男) (o).
- Kimio's surname Kaneda means "gold/metal, money/cash, currency" (金) (kane) and "field, rice paddy" (田) (ta/da), which literally translates to "golden field" altogether.
