Corner Work is a technique used at the corner that allows the user to dodge and counter their opponent's punches at the corner and escape from the corner without throwing a punch.

Usage[]

While his back is facing the corner, Wally dodges his opponent's punches by using the ropes next to the corner post on either side. Using those ropes, he quickly leans his back on the ropes and then bounces his body forward to the next set of ropes on the other side of the corner post. When an opportunity comes, Wally bounces off the ropes and escapes the corner to go behind his opponent to counter them when they turn around and attack.

It requires remarkable acrobatic skills mixed into one's rhythm, but if performed right it can make the user even more effective in the corner than in the centre of the ring. This can disrupt their opponent's rhythm since most in-fighters and brawlers commonly chase their opponent into the corner, making them naturally overconfident since their opponent is almost out of free space.
