In his corner, Kimura tells a worried Aoki that everything is part of the plan, as he never expected to take down Mashiba in the first round, and he will keep in-fighting for as long as he needs to. In the champion's corner, Mashiba, who has ended the careers of sis opponents, is determined to make Kimura the seventh.
When the next round begins, it is only a repetition of the previous, with the public, the commentator and even Takamura stating that Kimura does not stand a chance. Sixth straight rounds go by with the same result until Kimura's appearance begins to change after so much damage. Before the ending of the round, Mashiba finally knocks his opponent down with only his left. Before the count reaches ten, Kimura gets back up and resists the beating until the round ends.
As Fujii goes after Kimura's parents, who had left their seats unable to watch the punishment their son was receiving. Kimura's father tells the story of how his son became a delinquent: He tells how when Kimura was beaten by a kid they both went to the kid's house, but Kimura's father in a pathetic way was the one who ended up apologizing. Ever since that day Kimura looked at him with different eyes and relayed solely on violence, even quitting school without letting them know. However, all the violence stopped one day, leaving Kimura's father intrigued. After looking into Kimura's room out of curiosity, his father sees him polishing his boxing gloves with a smile.
Ever since that day, he has wished him good luck, and regrets having backed down in the past. With the match in the seventh round, he says he must go back in and face the situation this time, as Mari interrupts frantically to tell them something about Kimura.
