Summary[]
At Takamura's suggestion, Ippo and Aoki go to the Kawahara gym in order to see how much Kimura has progressed with Miyata after two weeks and a half of training. When they get there, they witness Miyata clearly dominating the match, but they also notice how now Kimura is using in-fighting, as opposed to his usual out-boxing. Despite this, Takamura predicts that Kimura will soon be in a predicament if he keeps up the tactic. At his gym, while training, Mashiba is told by his coach that the man ranked fifth in the world is open for a fight, so after defeating Kimura, he might have a chance at becoming world champion. Excited about the news, Mashiba says he will destroy anyone blocking his path to the title. During the usual sparring session with Miyata, Kimura is finally able to successfully enter Miyata's space, but to his shock, realises that even once inside he has no weapons to attack with. While reflecting about his new problem, Kimura becomes desperate and begins having doubts about switching styles at all. As he feeds Reiko, he sees her jumping for a fly, and begs her to do it once more as he had an idea while watching her doing it.
