Details[]

Summary[]

Volg's liver blow and Elliott's left hook lands on each other's block repeatedly. Volg feels the pain from the impact through his guard. Elliott's manager thinks Volg is a dangerous boxer, believing he was right to wait to have Elliott fight him on his terms, as this match will raise Elliott's profile further, which will translate into more money down the line. He thinks that as a manager, he has done the best job possible in getting Elliot to agree to this. As the fourth round ends, Volg's face begins to turn purple due to cyanosis. At Elliott's corner, Elliott's coach notices that Volg's face has turned purple from a lack of oxygen, so it won't be much longer now. Elliott claims that since Volg doesn't have much left in him, he will be going on a full assault, and when he does that, he plans to hit him with the worst punch possible, having spent four rounds getting it ready. At Volg's corner, Dankichi claims that he knows that Volg isn't alright and that there is precious little time left. He adds that the last round was spent putting the plan in motion, advising Volg to finish the job with the time he has left. Volg tells Dankichi a phrase he learned in Japan and feels that best describes his favourite boxer, "Yamato-damashī". Dankichi is surprised to hear that Japanese phrase, and believes that Volg is prepared for the worst, planning to collect his bones if it comes down to that. As the fifth round begins, Ippo believes that this will be the final round.
